Summer Fashions Trends 2020

Keeping up with the latest fashion trends can be tricky, particularly in Victoria as we have been in lockdown! As you may know, nothing was open!

Fortunately our roadmap is looking optimistic and literally any day now the shop doors will fly open, which means we’ll be happily hitting the stores to get our fashion summer fix.

Over the past many weeks, with not much to do, I decided to do a big cleaning out of my wardrobe, out with the old and in with the new. These words ring so true this year than any other year I can remember. So I ask myself what is my look, has it changed, I’m a year older can I still wear what I’ve been wearing for the last few years. Ok, my look is classic, elegant, minimal and a little edgy. I have just answered my own question, I still feel comfortable about my own style personality. I do love a bit of an edge to some of my pieces, a subtle statement brings joy to me and my ensemble. The key is to be true to yourself if the item/outfit doesn’t feel right on you, then it probably isn’t.

Summer is now rapidly approaching, so I continue scouring the internet more often than the norm for some fashion style inspiration. Looking to see what other people are wearing overseas and what the models were walking down the runway in. There really is plenty for all to get excited about. Interesting and fun trends for our spring/summer 2020.

OK let’s take a look at how to start prepping your wardrobe for the new season ahead, by adding something fresh into your look for 2020.

COLOUR

Glow in Neon

Are you ready for a bright and vivid season? The colour of the season according to Valentino, led the neon explosion with a series of looks in green, fuchsia and yellow. Other designers such as Christopher Kane, added bright yellow, orange and pink. Dramatic, fun and definitely eye catching!

Pretty Pastels

Think baby blue, pink, lavender, peach, lemon and mint. Gorgeous lavender, delicate and calming and more sophisticated than some of the pinks and blushes we’ve seen in the past. For all the girls that love their blues, classic blue, heritage blue and faded blue are popping up on all the runways. If you love your neutrals, you won’t be missing out. You can also work your pastels with neutrals. White, grey and beige, these are most likely the neutrals that work best with pastels.

If you don’t want to look too baby doll in your pastels, only add the pastel shades as an accessory.

STYLE

Short Suiting

Short suits are the coolest spring/summer trend for 2020. This look is perfect to update your wardrobe. A relaxed and fun take on tailoring and has seen a resurgence on the catwalk for the last few seasons. Cut long and lean just below the knee or cut high on the thigh. Add a sleek thigh-length blazer and then add if you choose a vest for a progressive look.

Unexpected Pairing

The idea is that you wear something in an unexpected way or put together an unexpected combination. Mixing materials, colours, elements and textures. Stripes, dots, letters all in at once - time to get creative!

Jeans or pants worn under a dress. This look was big in 2017. Today I’m seeing pants under dresses. Try wearing a fitted button-through dress over your pants, by doing this it will more than likely create bulk, so undo the buttons from waist down. This will create a floaty look and will be flattering on the hips.

Bralettes

A fun look for the weekends or out to lunch, you decide. Retailers are offering an array of cute and stylish options this summer, whether you decide to wear one over a t-shirt or under a jacket.

Linen

Stay cool in the summer heat with linen pieces. This year you’ll see more variations of linen or linen mix clothing in the stores. Anything from shorts to pants, dresses, shirts and jackets. In solid colour and beautiful prints.

Baby Doll Dress

Mini dress in the form of baby doll style. You’ll see this playful dress in variations of fullness and colour. The baby doll dress would great over a pair of jeans.

Oversized Sleeves

This Victorian-inspired look was seen last year and is still going strong. It’s oversized shape creates the illusion of a slimmer waist and adds lots of interest to your outfit.

Bucket Hats

Versatile, cute and this trendy accessory looks gorgeous in any season. For the warmer months, choose soft pastel shades. Also, look out for the bucket bag!

Winter Essentials 2020

The cooler days are definitely here and to stay, for at least a few months. OK this in not my favourite season, but I must say there are some fabulous winter items out there, so I can get a little excited at some of the wonderful design’s and creative layering splashed across fashion magazines and social media which serves as a window into the fashion world no matter where you live. That’s exciting!

So I decide to take a peek into the world of fashion and find out what’s trending around the world for our colder months. It’s a no brainer coats and jackets are here again and obviously a must in our wardrobe. The inspiration I’m getting is to rethink the way I’m wearing some of my classic pieces and my staples. Naturally I will have to purchase some new items to bring interest and a wow factor into my ensemble. I love the layering look, it’s time to think out of the box, get creative and experiment within my own wardrobe and in stores.

Puffer Jackets and Coats.

Puffer jackets and coats have been part of the runway essentials, creating a chic and dramatic look for many years now. Choose your favourite style, but always keep in mind your height and body type. Long line, mid length or a shorter style. The mid length jacket will suit just about any type of person, whether you are a tall or petite women. The puffer jacket/coat is here to stay. See my Facebook page for more tips on how to bring your puffer style staple to life by adding a belt or grabbing a trend-minded bag which can instantly update an otherwise basic outfit.

Leather or Pleather

I’m loving my new black leather jacket by Ena Pelly. I also have a pleather jacket by Top Shop which I bought the year before. Ena Pelly is a fabulous Australia label based in Geelong, if you get a chance check out their very cool Winter collection for 2020. They also do a great range of Faux Fur!

From the UK you may like All Saints, Reiss or Jigsaw. Don’t forget Zara for a reasonable price on your new leather/pleather jacket.

Boots

Are you looking to update your boots this Winter? Expect to see your favourite styles updated for 2020, as well as some new looks in the mix.

Having said that, I am looking to find a gorgeous pair of ankle boots this Winter, possibly two pairs, probably two pairs, definitely two pairs!

There are so many wonderful stylish boots out there, so many fabulous looks. Whatever your look, your personal style, there will be a pair for you! Will I bare all to the world, including my socks or go sock-less in a pair of cut-out boots. I must say I’m also loving the new look in the combat boot.

Perhaps you’re an over-the-knee gal, still much the same, but you can expect this style to trend towards glamorous, from colourful metallic to lace-up, over-the-knee for a more dramatic look. Do you favor classic or modern, glam or cut-out, cowboy or combat? All you have to do now is choose, happy shopping!

Summer Fashion Trends 2019

Fabulous, wonderful Summer is here! One of my favourite season’s. Having said that I live in Melbourne and truly you can expect any season throughout the months of October through to April. I never pack away my all of my Winter/Autumn clothing just in case and I always have a shrug and scarf to throw on, when the unexpected 15 degrees comes in.

Anyway enough about the weather, you may ask what’s trending for Summer this year?

STYLE STREET FASHION

I’m comparing the fashion trends of New York City to Melbourne and I’m finding it to be quite similar, which I love.

So walking around the Cities and watching people, what people are wearing on the streets truly fascinates and inspires me. I’m always inspired by the Streets of New York City and Melbourne. You really have to keep your eyes open and look around , you’ll see the contrast of styles. You’ll see girls wearing something really feminine, silhouettes that showcase your waist, skirts, floaty dresses, a puff sleeve, lace, heels and you’ll see some who have a more masculine, boyish look. Jeans, over-sized jackets, tees, biker jackets, flat shoes and a military look.

Style is all about expressing who you are, the real you. I must say I tend to be more on the boyish side of style. Not too many dresses in my wardrobe these days, much more of a pant girl. Of course you can still look feminine wearing a beautiful pair of pants teamed up with a silk top, heels, make-up and jewelry, I love mixing it up. I’ve also worn the same pants with sneakers and a biker jacket. Ask yourself who you want to be on the day, what outfit would make you happy today, and go for it!

AN OPEN MIND IS THE BEST LOOK

So one of the things I see in New York City is monochromatic looks trending for summer time. It’s brilliant, it’s contemporary it’s not about florals, it’s very New York and Melbourne I might add. So be bold in all black, or mix it up with white. If this is not your thing, easy switch to colour! I never let fashion dictate what style or colour I should be wearing. Always wear your best colour and the styles that suit your body shape and your personality.

Looking further I’m inspired by the floaty style dresses and pleated long skirts worn with sneakers. I love this look. All are teamed up with accessories. Find your perfect bag, statement earrings and sunnies. It’s so good to see how other people do it, how they put it all together, I find it all inspiring.

Clothes aren’t just about style, their about saying what you believe in and that’s what I noticed in the cities. One thing you can say about clothes is the political statement that you see more and more increasingly especially in this type of climate that we live in today.

With New York Fashion Week coming to an end, it was clear that stylish guests and city-goers were determined to pull out their best outfits. Mixing chunky sneakers with elegant outfits, the trend of the week was definitely one of model-off-duty, with a relaxed chic vibe. Wearing bold blazers with thick belts, monumental earrings and the popular waist belt bag, fashion icons hit the streets with pops of colour and confidence. Matched with bare, minimal makeup, pastel slip dresses and flashes of denim, these casual looks exude spring/summer. By: The Trend Spotter.

AK Style – Anna kozlowski

I would love to inspire, empower and enhance the already gorgeous you.

“I know change takes courage . If you embrace change, you may really surprise yourself; I know you’ll certainly surprise those around you.

Trending Autumn/Winter 2019?

Sometimes it’s easy to be overwhelmed by all the latest fashion trends flooding the stores and internet each season. Trends come and go and you don’t have to spend a fortune to keep up to date. Get savvy and re-work some of your old favourites. Looking more fashionable isn’t always about wearing the trendiest, most expensive clothes or mastering some complex styling trick. Sometimes it’s as easy as just tucking in the front piece of your shirt or throwing on a coat and adding a belt around your waist. Introduce a new statement accessory and see your outfit come to life. Accessories have the power to bring magic to any outfit.
Get ready, get in the mood we’re set for a revival of heritage check, luxe knit dresses, soft suiting, faux fur and leather. Also, still trending strong are the animal prints. Bring in the new snake print and cow print. Burberry is making the cow print very cool this season. Perhaps polka dots are your thing, lots to choose from. Now is the time to choose your own personality print. Embrace the print or check that works best for you!

THE SUIT

it’s a new look, it’s gorgeous, it’s called soft suiting. After a few seasons of sharp, tight silhouettes in bold colours and strong textures, suiting for Autumn and Winter 2019 is relaxed. The jacket, coat and pants are soft in touch and soft in colour. If you’re wanting to change up the loose draping look to create a more giving silhouette, just add a belt around the waist. I feel this year a belt in your wardrobe is a must.

LUXE KNITS

I spotted this gorgeous outfit by Viktoria and Woods. (image)
The asymmetric side split in the longline tunic gives the piece a modern edge. Paired with matching wide leg pant. Stunning from a ribbed 100% merino wool. Again, we see the soft colours coming into play.

VIKTORIA and WOODS are just another wonderful label based in Australia, with their simple approach to create effortless wardrobe staples with a pared-back modern feel.

FAUX FUR

Treat yourself and make all your friends envious in a brand-new faux fur jacket this winter. This jacket is the wardrobe staple for every fashion forward girl with an ethical conscience. Wear it day to night, it’s the perfect accessory to make any outfit a standout.UNREAL FUR is a Melbourne based, faux fur label brought to life in 2011 with a clear goal. Their mission is to end the use of real fur in the fashion industry.

STYLE CONFIDENCE

Be true to your own style personality. It’s liberating to dress for who you are, for yourself and not for others. When you’re wearing something, you love, and it looks and feels wonderful on and you, you’ll notice a skip in your step and a big smile on your face. If you’re still floundering and not sure what best suits your body type, your proportions, your colouring, what prints feel right on you, then it’s time to invest in a personal Colour and Image consultant. Seriously, you’ll wonder why you didn’t do it sooner.

Trends That Will Set You Up for the Best Spring/Summer Season Yet

Do you see that? The light at the end of the tunnel? That’s right, only one month to go until the end of winter! But who’s counting, right?

Spring is just around the corner, and with the warmer months come a whole selection of chic styles made for those wanting to step out and catch those first welcome rays of sunshine. The coming months are sure to see some of the most exciting trends yet – channel your inner boss babe with power blazers and suits or turn into the ethereal goddess you know you are with a gorgeous ruffle dress. This coming season is all about having fun, pushing it to the limits and oozing confidence.

Feel Like a Boss in a Power Blazer

This is one trend we can totally get behind! You might be thinking that power suits are SO ‘90s – but everything else from the 90s have made a comeback so why not a power blazer? Think bold shoulder pads, an oversized fit and vintage or checked patterns.

Don’t be afraid to pair with skinny jeans, a statement heel or even a belt to cinch it in at the waist and go out and live your best life with your head held high.

All Red Everything!

Extroverts and fashionistas will embrace this trend with open arms. Yes, we’re talking about stepping out in all red everything! Don’t be scared of going over the top – now is the time to raid your wardrobe and pair your pants, shoes, shirt, blazer and handbag all in the most vibrant shades of red you can find. Best of all? This trend will help you stand out of the ongoing all-black style trend that Melbourne is famous for.

We understand that red isn’t for everyone. If an OTT all-red look is too much for you, start small by incorporating one red statement piece into your wardrobe like tailored pants or a bright skirt. Then, build your confidence and your wardrobe until you’re ready to be the lady in red.

Baker Boy Hats

Otherwise known as the train driver, cabbie, newsboy or page boy hat, there’s no denying that this cap is going to be sticking around for a while. Just take a look at stylish celebs like Zendaya, Bella Hadid, Cara Delevigne and Suki Waterhouse who have all been snapped rocking this chic look.

While this trend is perfect for the upcoming festival season (it was a favourite among SITG goers) it’s also versatile enough to be worn on the daily. Perfect for trading out your well-worn beanie or the ideal accessory for your favourite faux fur jacket and jeans. The best part? There are so many colours, styles and fabrics to choose from you can have one for every day of the week.

Go on, cap off your wardrobe with a baker boy hat and feel incredibly and effortlessly chic.

Ruffle Dresses

If you couldn’t yet tell, the theme for the coming season is ‘more is more’, and your midi and maxi dresses are no exception. We’ll see an extra layer of fabric added to classic styles to create an ethereal look that anyone can feel good wearing. The ruffle dress is the perfect option for those finding the power blazer and all-red trends too intense.

For an ultra-feminine aesthetic this spring, think ruffle dresses in pastel florals (yes, ground breaking we know), stripes and orange and mint colour palettes.

Yellow and gold will also play a big roll in colour this Spring/Summer. Look out for a new Sydney-based label in town, Vastire, launched only a few weeks ago in David Jones and The Iconic. You’ll love it, it’s a brand for women, not for mannequins, affordable and versatile without being ‘Plain Jane’.

You can’t have enough cute trendy sneakers to mix and match with most of your outfits during the day. Oh so comfortable and oh so very stylish. A must in your wardrobe!

If you’re feeling brave, pair your ruffle dress with a chunky or platform sneaker.

The spring/summer season is going to bring bold, bright and exciting trends that are sure to shake us out of our winter blues! Unsure how to pull off a power blazer or a bold all-red look? That’s totally ok! A visit from AK Style might be just what you need to help pull you out of the comfort of your winter comfort clothes.

What to Wear in Winter 2018

Winter is here and rugging up never looked so good! As the season changes, so does our chance to express ourselves through fashion. It’s time to revitalise that wardrobe and your life with all the latest trending fashions.

This winter we’re seeing rich bright colours like never before, a fun new approach to fake furs with a new colour twist, and plaids are going to be everywhere! Here’s how to dress for the latest trends and fashion you’ll be seeing on the streets of Melbourne.

Rich Bright Colours

Forget dull and lifeless winter colours to hide behind, this winter colours are vibrant! Pinks, blues and deep hues of red are all the rage and you’ll love sparking up your winter wardrobe with the beautiful rainbows of the winter 2018 collections. Coats are a must have for winter to keep us warm, but they don’t need to be the same drab colours that have been coming through in past winters.

No, this year you can add a splash of colour to that trench coat, light jacket or wrap around coat. Don’t hide your creative side – live it with winter’s bright coloured fashions! A bright colourful jacket steps up a dull outfit and gives it new life. Don’t be afraid to play with bright tops and shirts too. You can literally get a splash of vibrant colour anywhere!

Faux Fur in Colour

Faux fur coats are back this winter and you need to get one to stay ahead of this growing trend. Don’t worry, we’re not talking the traditional black faux fur that’s been done before, we’re talking about colour! Faux fur is perfect for day or night, dress up any outfit with stunning fake furs this winter and turn a professional outfit into a funky masterpiece in this stylish fashion.

Yes, the need for colour this winter has streamed through to fake fur coats and we’re loving it! Plush pinks and sweet greys are all the rage in faux fur this winter, so be sure to adorn yourself with this stunning winter trend. Not only will you keep snuggly and warm on those cold winter days, you’ll also be putting your best fashion foot forward!

Revive the Plaids

Plaid has returned in a big way and it’s another great place for you to play with colour in your winter wardrobe! Plaid is coming back as an equally funky and sophisticated look for the modern woman. Whether it’s a tailored suit, just the plaid tailored pants or a feminine cut plaid shirt – you will love adding plaid to your wardrobe for day and night.

Long plaid coats are huge this winter and you can play with neutral colours in brown and grey, or you can spice it up with some more vibrant colours like pinks and reds! If you get this right, you’ll be totally on trend for this winter’s plaid sensation which is sweeping the streets of Melbourne!

TARTAN COAT - A statement coat without being over the top . Subtle without being too boring. Tartan has been around for years and years has now and very much on trend. (stree style19, Base Colour – LOEWE)

Autumn Fashion Trends This Year

Autumn is fast approaching and this season there are some amazing looks in the stores that are sure to inspire and delight. In Autumn 2018 some previous looks are brought back. Old fashioned florals, padded shoulders, and comfy sweaters are some of the looks for next season.

There are many bargains to be found in the stores and online. As your personal stylist in Melbourne, I can help you to create a look that is current and confident. The following pieces will refresh your wardrobe and have you turning heads this Autumn

Classics

The classic suit is a staple. Some are revamped with removed sleeves. Classic colors such as blues, camels, and blacks are in, and chocolate brown is huge this year. Oversized blazers are on trend, and in noted brands such as Alexander Wang and Van Noten wide shoulder pads are back.

Look out for lots of Faux Fur this season, snuggle up in your favourite coat or shawl and don’t forget to choose your best colour!

Victoria Beckham’s gorgeous cape-coat with a fringe hem and buttons. She is going for the asymmetrical look, I’m a big fan! Images by Victoria Beckham/Vogue Runway.

I must say I love what designers have done to our white classic shirt. Statement sleeves or a hint of embellishment will give your outfit a wow factor. . Images by Zara – white shirt, pink funky ankle boots and on trend jeans.

Cozy Sweaters

Sweaters, ribbed cardigans, round necks and crew necks are in this Autumn. Camel tones, bright colors, neutral tones, and shaggy wool blends keep you warm as the temperature cools down.

Footwear

Boots in all shades including camels, neutrals, and bright reds are in the stores. Huge wedges are popular this season too. In New York, Fashion Week denim heels and wedges were seen, along with higher than high sparkly silver on black heels by Oscar De Lar Renta and Badgley Mischka. As your personal stylist in Melbourne, I can source you a must-have item whatever your budget! Team with black fishnet tights and minis, mid-length and long skirts and dresses.

Mid Length A Line Skirts

A-line skirts in mixed materials and colors have been seen by Christian Dior, Victoria Beckham and more. The Aline is back – and looks fabulous in mixed fabrics and over tights and fishnets.

Vintage Floral

Vintage floral is huge this season in shoes, boots, tops, pants, gowns and everything in between.

Mixed Fabrics

Mixed fabrics are seen in full-length dresses, and short lengths, and A-lines.

With so much fun fashion this season dress to express yourself.

Summer Fashion Trends

Summer is upon us once more! During this season, there is an abundance of fabulous fashion, interesting styles, colour galore, excitement and entertainment! As your personal stylist in Melbourne, here are my tips for dressing on trend this summer!

Colours Recommended by Your Fashion Stylist Melbourne

For this upcoming summer, I’m seeing a lot of fabulous colour, prints, embellishment and designs to get you into the definite look and feel of summer. Bright fun colours for all you lucky ladies that can wear them, their strong and bold colours that project an air of confidence.

Reds are one of the colours that are in season, along with lollypop pink and yellow. Also bright shades such as cobalt blue and emerald green are trending. Fortunately for the ladies that don’t look good in bright colours, you’ll also see some of the softer shades of colours that some of the other designers are doing, no one is going to miss out this summer.

This week in Melbourne has been a scorcher, and as the temperatures continue to heat up, so does fashion for men. So guys stay away from too much black and go for a mix and match ensemble. Colours such as white, pale grey, light blue, pale pink and navy, add to the mix brighter accessories which I have seen in GQ magazine this year for men. Mix and match different coloured chino shorts and blazers to give you a fresher, lighter and cooler look this season.

Leading Brands & Designers

From your affordable brands such as Witchery, Seed, French Connection, Zara, H&M, Uniqlo and Topshop/Topman to high end brands such as Alice McCall, Zimmerman, Ted Baker, Hugo Boss, Tom Ford, Michael Cors and Bianca Spencer, just to name a few, have all something unique and stylish to offer this summer.

Even if you’re not into the cowgirls, you will appreciate the tailored pieces, which were out in full force by Ralph Lauren. He certainly knows how to cut a jacket, trouser and shirt to perfection. There are many versions in pinstripes, winter white and black

Style & Accessories

Lace, ruffles and florals are on trend, along with ingenious hem lines, soft washes and gorgeous embellishments. Everything feminine is in fashion and will be seen a lot in this upcoming summer. Along with fabulous statement sleeves and definitely a hint of the 80’s, and let’s not forget the bold stripes and the flirty pick a boo outfits. In addition, funky sunnies and a bright coloured shoulder bag will help you complete your summer look!

During this season, do not forget to bring sunscreen to protect your skin. Whatever your style and preference, taking the above into account will see that you are on trend for this summer. Contact Anna Kozlowski, your fashion stylist Melbourne for a look that will make you feel and look fantastic!

Your Personal Stylist in Melbourne

A Fabulous Working Wardrobe Designed by your Personal Stylist

So, you may be wondering what a Personal Stylist is and what exactly one can do for you.

A Personal Stylist is someone who typically has comprehensive knowledge and experience in the fashion, clothing and style industry. They then use that knowledge and skill set to help people who need advice on fashion, style and what the best clothes are for their body type and their colouring.

Developing your Personal Style

People come in all different shapes and sizes and sometimes it can be hard to choose the best clothes to suit our bodies. Not only that, we all want to wear clothes that accurately reflect our personalities as well.

If you feel like you have a wardrobe full of clothes and nothing to wear, then you probably need a little assistance from an expert.

How to Escape a Style Rut

Discovering you’re in a style or colour rut can happen quite by accident or at any age and is caused by a mindset, which has become trapped in one thought pattern.

The Time Warp, sadly your clothes belong in a former fashion decade.

The Peter Pan, hard to let go of styles and looks that are now too young for you.

The Too Busy/Too Lazy to Think, where your wardrobe becomes a no brainer with everything exactly the same.

We can be creatures of habit and stick to what we know. The same applies with our fashion choices and that’s how we end up in a fashion style rut!

A Personal Stylist can help you sort through the mountain of clothing in your wardrobe, advise you on where you have gone wrong in the past with your clothing choices, what to keep and what to toss. Choose complimentary garments to highlight / mix’n’match what is missing in your wardrobe.

It’s time to shine again, wake up the gorgeous you!

Choosing Your Personal Stylist

There is a lot to consider, after all you don’t want to waste your valuable time or money on someone who does not grasp your sense of style or suggests items of clothing that are way out of your budget. So it is very important that your personal stylist is going to tailor their service to suit your needs. There are wonderful stylist out there and a good indication of experience, quality service and catering to suit all tastes and styles would be to read the personal testimonials left on their personal stylist website. Finally I hope you choose well and get your incredible wardrobe that you deserve that makes you feel happy again, current and stylish, and fabulously confident!

AK Style Personal styling Services

A personal stylist will take the time to get to know you, what your needs and are and give you advice on how to choose stunning outfits that will bring out your best, most confident self. They can also provide you with a personal shopping experience where they will accompany you while you shop for new outfits and help you make the best style decisions so that you don’t throw away money on items you won’t end up wearing.

A personal Stylist is an ‘investment’ that you will reap the rewards from for years to come!

Impact of Colour

The Impact of Colour in Our Wardrobe: Is This Where You’re Going Wrong?

Do you find yourself purchasing clothes in your favourite colours but they just don’t seem to work on you? Do you find that some of the outfit or clothes you are wearing are changing the brightness of your eyes and even negatively effecting your complexion – giving you that washed out look? The effects of colour are undeniably strong: not only does your choice in colour have the power to influence and change your own feelings, thoughts, emotions and moods… It can also shape and influence the way you look.

The Impact Colour Has on Your Skin, Eyes and Hair

Not all colours are created equal for all people! What works on one person, won’t necessarily work on the next person. Have you ever seen a friend in a certain item of clothing and thought how fantastic they look, yet when you put the same piece of clothing on, it just doesn’t seem to work on you? This could very well be simply attributed to the colour. The colours that suit and work best on you are influenced by the colour of your complexion, hair, eyes and much more. It takes a true colour expert – such as a Colour Consultant – to unravel the science behind it.

Call me Mellow Yellow

Physical effects of yellow: energizes, relieves depression, improves memory, stimulates appetite, speeds up metabolism and enhances concentration.

Colour affects every moment of our lives even though most of our choices are unconscious. How we look, how we feel, how we react and how others react to us. Colour has the power to evoke psychological reactions because they can be associated with certain feelings and meanings. Colour can enhance or detract from a persons appearance.

As an accent colour, yellow is a vibrant colour you don’t need much to give your outfit a pop or extra flair. The key to looking cool in yellow is making sure you wear the perfect shade of yellow for your skin tone. Yellow is commonly known in three shades — a pastel yellow, bright canary yellow, and mustard yellow. (the first image is a gorgeous mustard yellow dress)

Do You Know Your Signature Colours?

With the help of AK Style – Melbourne’s consummate fashion professional – you’ll be able to put those colour selection nightmares straight to bed. Together you will both discover what colours work best for your hair, skin tone, and complexion – in addition to uncovering the ones that don’t, so as to establish which colours you should be avoiding.
