We all know that the world has been in a global pandemic. What I have noticed is that fashion has learned to reinvent itself. As a result ready to wear has become more functional, practical, sustainable and less complex in a changing world.

Here are some fashion trends to look out for. From knit wear, crochet cardi, velvet items, puff jackets, chic oversized coats, monochromatic outfits, lounge wear and everything in between. Oh and of course the 60’s vibe, it’s back with a modern twist.

KNITWEAR

Knits from head to toe, you’ll be warm and cosy all day long.
The knit trends are strong again this season. The difference is that you can now wear your mini skirt in a knit style, or a pair of knitted pants and then team it up with a knit top. BTW bonus points if the knit top is a stripe. Why stop there, throw on a knitted cardi, OK, feeling a little too warm, but remember Melbourne can be chilly in June, July and August, just saying…

Gradient space knits. You want a splash of colour and interest to liven up your winter days, here is the gradient, space knit. A softer wash of colour, whether in a single hue or different rainbow shades bleeding into each other. Definitely a softer look.

Also noticing a lot of fabulous knit dresses, from mini to midi, which can be a lot more sophisticated than your typical oversized jumper. Paired back with your favourite ankle boot. Add a statement fringe bag. Gorgeous, you’re ready to go!

FRINGE

From dresses to jackets and even accessories, fringe is key this season. Fringe always makes an outfit more fun, so shop now and add a statement item to your wardrobe this Autumn/winter. You’ll have a skip in your step.

LOUNGEWEAR

Wearing sweatshirts with everything! Comfort is a must, so stock up on your essentials and layer up this season.

THE 60’s VIBE

Their back, a modern take on the swinging 60’s.
Semi functional fabrics are on the rise. Not for everyone but, some designers are bringing back the once popular vinyl trench coat seen in stripes and bold colours, pop on your vinyl cap and knee high boots for your complete 60’s vibe.

WINTER COAT/JACKET

I believe investing in a good winter coat is a must. A well-made piece of outerwear, looked after lovingly, should last you for several years. There are plenty of wonderful looks to choose, from Teddy’s to a Cape jacket.

Vivid block colour’s are one of the big trends from last year and is still trending strong for autumn/winter 2022. This coat trend is available in a range of fabrications, from super soft teddy to tailored silhouettes.

The shearing jacket or coat will keep you warm and comfortable, teamed up with pants or a dress.

The teddy or teddy bear coat is the cosiest of coat trends. They come in beautiful textured fabric’s keeping you warm, fuzzy and immediately comforting. Great for smart or casual dressing.

Always store away your special winter items, in either a suit bag or a vacuum sealed bag, so they’ll stay clean and ready to wear the following year.
